We are currently look at using Great Plains or Navision. I was looking to compare Bar Coding and Warehouse Managent for the two systems. Do you have any thoughts on the pluses and minues of the different systems.

Thanks
Shawn

We reviewed WMS for GP and found that there were VERY few people that could train us on how to use it - plus it was a pig when we were testing. So we got a WMS system that uses eGP to communicate with GP. We are pretty happy with it as it takes the POs from GP and posts receipts back to GP on the 'in' side of things. Then does the same for the 'out' side of things (takes Orders from GP - gives back the filled order info). Few problems with when things get received and then there was a mistake on data entry (and we need to 'unreceive') - but we worked around it. I think if we had used their PO system instead it may have been easier... but that add-on was not cheap.

We actually had them write a small interfaces that would take info from our Rockwell automation system and track usages... now our re-call procedure takes minutes... not hours to complete

The bar coding of the license plates & Items has been very good and assisted us in getting some much needed certifications.
