Bar codes not recognized by ARCserve.

I am using AS2000 SP4 with WIN2K SP3. There are a few different DLT backup units, two of which are the IBM 3447 14 tape capacity with Quantum 7000 drives. I can't seem to get ARCserve to scan and recognize the tapes using the bar codes. It scans the tapes, retrys, and then puts the tape in the drive to get the information it needs. I have checked the only option I could find for scan bar codes. Any information would be very helpful.
