bar code scan overwrites scan.dat file

Hello,
trying to scan numerous bar codes but my Symbol PDT7200 overwrites each scan into the scan.dat file. How do I have it create a list of scans instead of a file with my last scan saved? Any ideas?

What Programing code are you using to program the PPT2700?
VBE, C++
OR
If VBE post the code that writes the record.
