bar chart help request -- union all question

I am using Crystal Reports v 10.


I have a bunch of servers that are being reported for "NOT being audited".

On the X axis I have a month range -- @month range.
Y - axis = count of location

group 1 = month range
group 2 = Datacenter (Location)

In month range i have 'specified order' and i have created 1,2,3,6,9,12 and no date available. example 9 month = between 9 and 11 from the data etc.

Question:

If i have no data for 1 month, 2 months, 3 months etc -- It does not show up on the bar chart.

I would like to see them anyway even if those months there are zero assets that have "not been audited"

I have been told the following by someone and wanted to know if that is actually the case and if so what exactly i need to explain to the DBA.


"-------- a stored Procedure that UNIONS a set of records that includes every combination of Date category and Location group. I have specified the order of the months and sort of created that in CR, but the specified Order can't make a group appear if it doesn't have at least one record----"

The DBA says in my case it brings in too much "garbage data" and slow down performance.
