hi,
trying to implement a simple bar chart for the comparison of two values - an actual value vs an average value - looks nice if you use the coloring scheme 'by series', resulting in two different coloured bars for value and average value.

Saving and retrieving the report revealed the color scheme changed to 'by groups' as both values belong two the same groups, they have the same color.

I didn't found a way to keep the coloring of the bars as "by series", as there's obviously a reset to "by groups" when saving my changes.

My "customized" legend, referring with different coloured labels to the corresponding bars in the chart looks weird as all bars have the same colour now.

Any hint is appreciated
regards, joe

Can you send me a sample .rpt??
I'll take a look in the debugger and see if I spot anything.

hi,
brwosing through the knowledge base I found the problem mentioned above. The article is found at support.crystaldecisions.com/library/kbase/new_articles/c20122899.asp

The "buggy" chart dll reported is 2.3.2.25 and my systems runs on 2.3.2.10, definiteley time for an update.

exerpt from the article:

"Synopsis

When running Sscsdk80.dll, verson 2.3.2.25, the 'Color by Series' chart option is automatically converted to 'Color by Group' when 'For All Records' is selected in the 'Data' tab of the 'Chart Expert'.

The problem becomes apparent after the report is saved and reopened."
