Hello, my co-worker who used to program meridian PBX was fired and without training I've been assigned this hard work of taking care of programming the PBX. I've been around for the functions but there is something I was asked to do and I have been unable to do it. We have several normal phone lines (COT), some of them are taken with the 9 and others with the 8, what I need to do is to prevent two extensions from taking an outgoing phone line with the 9, they only must be able to dial out using the 8. All the other extensions will be able to dial out using either 8 or 9.

Thanks in advance for your help, as I said I'm new in this world and a very specific answer will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Oscar

You can set the TARG on the trunk group with the access code of 9 to a number from 0-31 and then set the phones that you want to restrict from that route, set their TGAR to the same number. This will prevent them from being able to access those trunks. You do this in LD 16. I would recommend setting it to 2 or 3 to be safe unless that is already being used.

Make sure your TARG value that you set doesn't match the trunk group with the access code of 8 or else they won't be able to dial out at all.

You also need to change a prompt, I think TGAR to Yes, in LD 15 NET for the TARG/TGAR to work- I can not think what the exact prompt is but I think it`s at the bottom of the NET
