Hello,

I'm having problems connecting to the corporate VPN service.
Here's the scenario:
O/S: Windows2000 SP4
Contivity Client: V04_65.09 (128 Bit Version)

I'm connecting through DSL.
Apparently, the connection authenticates with my vpn server, then the status message changes to "Checking for banner text". The status message stays present for about 30 secs and it then times out with the error "The Secure Contivity CPN Session has been lost. Click connect to re-establish the connection".

I've enabled the log and the only line which indicates that there might be a problem is a line that reads "| Isakmpd | E | Unable to complete encryption handshake with remote side. Encryption Mismatch."

I don't know what else to try. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

This is almost always caused by a NAT issue. If you do not have NAT passthrough enabled on your broadband router, then you have to enable NAT traversal on the Contivity switch.

We have also seen symptoms like this if filters/firewall rules are defined on the Contivity, that block proper client-switch communications.
