I have no clue what I have done to cause this. I designed a banner as usual. When I came in this morning to export it to gif, I wouldn't export as an animated gif, just the first scene. I made sure the playback was set to animated in the publish settings. Then I realized, the whole banner has somehow gotten turned into a symbol, inside a scene. When you then export the document, though, all you get is a static banner with only the first frame showing.

Anyone know any fixes.

Thanks in advance for your help

... gotten turned into a symbol...

You mean a movie clip?

To uotput as an animated .gif, everything must be on the main timeline , not in clips.

Go into the clip, right-click any frame on the timeline, and hit Select All Frames. When all hilighted, right-click again, and hit Copy Frames. Open a new document and right-click the first empty frame, hit Paste Frames...

You should now have a new .fla, with your banner on the main timeline... Try exporting that one!

I finally figured out what it was. Before I posted this, I had selected the frames and was pasting them, but the same thing was happening. I was going to edit -> "Paste in Place" in stead of clicking on the timeline and paste frames. Thanks!
