Bandwidth Usage

How do I setup and what programs would I use to watch real time stats of of the bandwidth usage of a switch or a port on a switch. Error alerts and other stats would be a bonus too.

Are there any free programs that would do this? What are some of the best programs to use that you pay for?

I want to start to monitor 2900 switches and once I know what program and how to do it I will move up to 4000 switches.

Hello Mate

a little program call mrtg will monitor router ports via mib 2 and snmp. It will graph the result on to a web page...can be downloaded from the net for free..... Bit tricky on first start up but works very well....
