Hi all,

I have a netgear 48 port layer 3 switch which is connected to a 10mb line. Each port is subnetted seperatly for example 192.168.1.1 192.168.2.1 and so on. Each port has a different small lan connected to it. I am having problems with bandwidth and there is no traffic handling in place so if a user starts downloading a large file it seems they take up 90% of the bandwidth leaving the other users with a slow connection!

Does anyone know of a way to throttle the bandwidth on each port to say 1mb/sec? The switch supports class of service, traffic control and diffserv commands but im not too sure on the usage of them!

Any help is appreciated.

You might consider asking Tek-Tips management for a Netgear forum where you'd probably get a better response, since this forum is for Network Appliance products.
