Hi

My knowledge of cisco isnt brilliant but I would appreciate any advise on the following scenario:-

My company is in the process of purchasing a 2 meg leased line.
We propose to share this line with a sister company, there offices are next to ours.
I somehow need to segregate te bandwidth 50/50...i.e we have 1 meg for our use, they have 1 meg for there use.

Can you advise if this is possible, and what hardware would be required / recommended for this?

Thanks in advance

James

policy based routing. set up your network with 10.10.x.x for your company and 10.11.x.x for the other. set up acls to route and qos by network

thanks
can you recommend some possible models of routers that would be suitable???

more detail, 1 company has only 15ish employees but does alot of collaboration, video conferencing etc.
The other company has 60ish employess - primarily standard internet access etc

pretty much any cisco router will do policy based routing. but if they do a lot of video conferencing, you may want a layer 3 switch (3500) and do some QoS because video will take up all their 1meg pipe rather fast. do you have IP phones?

yes we have IP phones but no voice will be going over the link, sorry i intially said a 2meg line I actually meant a 10meg.

ok then you should not have an issue. i would implement QoS as well to be safe
