Hi again,

I have a problem which I would like some advise on please.

I have a cisco 1610 router with 2 ethernet ports on it. It is connected to a 10/100/1000 switch on one side and to my cable modem on the other side.

The cable modem is capable of 6mbps download and 1.5upload. I have 6 external IP address configured on the cable modem ethernet port.

The problem I am having is with download speed. If I plug the a computer into a simple linksys router I get the true 6 mbps download speed but through the router I am only getting 100-200Kbps download.

Does anyone have any idea on how to improve the speed. If so how do I go about this?

Cheers and thanks in advance
Colin

show interface" and check for the input errors and CRC errors. "show proc cpu" to check the CPU loading

Let us know the results.

Also do you run a lot of access-lists and/or policy routings?

if after doing the above you see nothing wrong then its best to show the config from the router...

it may be something simple like a duplex mismatch though
