Can someone give me an idea how much it would cost to upgrade a 5 terminal license 5.2 tableservice with no addons. All the hardware meets the specs for 6.7 so its just a software upgrade. I would like to have a ballpark figure before getting in touch with the dealer. The dealer was dishonest in the past and I stopped working with him when I found another tech person who knew about aloha. He has taken very good care of the system and could even perform the upgrade but not being a dealer he can't get the security keys upgraded. Knowing the dealer I am sure he will insist on performing the upgrade so I would really like to know what typically the cost of upgrading the licenses would be and how much a honest dealer would charge for performing the upgrade.

take your proposal for the upgrade and take a look at replacing with different software. Might be about the same if they can use your hardware. If your site was in my region I'd be happy to get you a proposal to move over to POSitouch, or I can connect you with a local dealer. With POSitouch and other systems, you don't have to pay for all the options that you do with Aloha. Most of the modules and features come with the key. You only pay for a small amount of modules, Gift, Loyalty, XML Ordering for OLO to name a few. There is nothing that Aloha can do that POSitouch or Micros can do and more than likely, some of the other top tier systems.
If nothing else, you can use the proposal you get to switch to something else against your dealer and get a better deal from them.

Never dealt with $$ part, but I believe you have to have membership to get your license upgraded. Being that you are on 5.2, I can assume you haven't had membership in quite awhile. I believe (Correct me if I'm wrong) you have to pay for previous years not being on membership, so unfortunately I see your dealer having to charge you a very large figure for this. It's probably nothing to do with your dealer, it's just how NCR works. Just don't be surprised if the amount seems completely ludicrous.
