Bad Token Received

A Sql Server 7 Server is set up as a Remote
Server to a Sql 6.5 Server

I am doing a remote procedure call from within
from the 6.5 Server (Enterprise Manager) trying to access a
procedure in a database on the 7.0 server....
and intermittently getting "Received Bad Token"

I have the latest service 5a service pack on 6.5
and a recent SP on the 7.0 server.
Any ideas ?

(error on SQL 6, solved(?))

The problem can also be caused by network hard/software.

I had previously done a search and found that article ...
but don't understand why it applies since I am using
6.5 and 7.0 .....this error does not occur in
the Production environment, however...
