Hey all,

As the subject lines states.....I just have a hard time sitting in and playing Microsoft word games with these tests. Anyone have info on test taking material or any other testing help sites? Also, what will be the remaining duration of the Server 2003 suite? Is it worth trying to aim for exam 70-290 still?

Any info is appreciated, TYIA

JoeySpills,

While Microsoft's exams may indeed constitute "word games", the best advice that I can give you towards passing them is to become familiar with how to read the questions. The Microsoft Press books come with a CD with similarly worded questions. That can be useful towards deciphering them come exam time.

Also, regarding the MCSE 2003 track, I'd say that it is worth aiming for. I've seen several ads this year that are looking for 2000 Server experience, so I'd expect the same demand for Server 2003 in six years time.

Not to mention that MCSE 2000's can upgrade their certs to 2003 with two exams. I'd expect this trend to continue once the next server OS is released.

I would also expect the 2003 Exams to be relivent for a while.

Until VERY recently (within the last month) DBAs could still get a SQL 7 cert. SQL 2000 came out in 2000, and SQL 2005 just came out.

I would expect Windows 2003 certs to be around for quite a while yet.
