Over the weekend I tried to connect to a system and kept getting no carrier detected. I called a friend, asked him to try. Same thing. If I tell the customer they need a new "modem", is that in the backup/restore card, or actually inside the processor?

Yes I've had this happen too. Avaya tech support told me to reset the modem. As I recall. I will look at my notes when I get into the office.I know you can do something like that. It didn't work for me. You might also power cycle the system.

Restart the system before you buy a new processor. SOMETIMES the modem used to dial in is just goofy with the WinSPM and Magix Modem combination. USUALLY a system restart will take care of it.

You can go into Maintenance from the consol, select port then port 2. That way you don't need to shut off the switch. I've never had much luck with it but it might work for you.
