I am developing a database app using a client(XP) and server(XP-IIS) back to back at home speaking to each other via a workgroup. All works fine but when I install the code on another (Win2000-IIS) web server at work - which is configured to work on a domain, some PC'S connect but only after a while when navigating they report:-
Bad Gateway
The following error occurred:
A DNS lookup error occurred. The host was not found.
The Win2000 IIS server at work is only connected for my test purposes and no other apps have even been run on it - so there may be a problem with the way it has been configured?
On the same LAN at work we have a 2000 server with ISDN connection - maybe there are some conflicts?
Please help - I am developing something in a closed environment ie nobody to ask at all - I have to rely entirely on Visual Studio help screens - and that's fun!
If my idea works, I may be going into space with Mark Shuttleworth - he'll be carrying my luggage this time.
