Bad B Channel in PBX?

I have a client who is experiencing an issue with an incoming line.
The caller is hearing thunk/or squeal, hears a tone, then hangs up.
They called their line provider, and the provider says they have a bad "B" channel in the PBX.

I've not been in the repair side of the business that long, but what does that mean on the Avaya IP Office side of the equation?
Need to trouble shoot with the client, but would like some advice as to what I am looking for.

I've yet to see an IPO ISDN card cause an issue like this, typically the carrier equipment creates channel issues. Only way to prove it definitively is with an ISDN tester like a "T Bird" I think you guys call them.
Or take another system with an ISDN card fitted, if you just swap the card they'll blame the PBX :)

I agree, if you had or have a bad card then all of your b channels would be out of service, have the line provider test the circuit to be sure

That's pretty much what I assumed. But you all know about assuming....[peace]

play them at their own game & tell them you have had the equipment checked & it has been proven to the circuit

Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

I've seen it once and it was something called a "Titan" at the carrier that had a problem that was causing 1 or 2 B channels to never come up, or never reliably stay up.
