I am currently looking into backup options for our firm. The data resides on an NT Server. I was going to use BackupExec and was wondering what method I should use, Full, differentioal or incremental. We need the data to be restored as quickly as possible. If you need additional info I will gladly supply it

Thanks

I would say a full backup on friday, and incremental on the other days. Just to be extra cautions, if your data is priceless, periodically restore the data to verify that you have a sound backup, also have more than one full backup on a friday and store a copy off site.

Good advice from DrainSurgeon. However, I would recommend differentials instead of incrementals between full backups. Unless you just have a truckload of data, restores will be simpler using differentials.

Speed & ease of the restore process are essential?
Any other input on the subject of incremental vs differential ??

Thanks
