After a few years in my drawer I installed a LogiTech webcam.
Now I see the file backWeb-8876480.exe is calling home.

I disabled it in my firewall. A Google search gives nearly 50 % good and 50 % bad. So, I'm nowhere...

Does one of the gurus here can give more information.

TIA

It calls home to Logitech to check for updates. Whether you keep it or remove it is up to you. I would remove it.

The real question is what you have in your drawer that needs a web cam?

Notice I resisted using the plural for drawer.

Thanks for answer.
I will remove it.

For the drawer history :)

I can be sometimes short with words.
As independent developer I have a few customers who are short on money. Instead of money they give me some 'things', like a web cam, headset, tables, chairs, food....

That's what you get working in a country where small businesses are 'small'.

The little (computer)gadgets are all together in, yes, a drawer.
Once in a while I have the time to look all those things over and decide to 'do' something with it, rather than throwing it away or 'giving' it away.....

Anyway, thanks for help.
