I have a client that has a 206 module, R 2.0, really old, that has gone on the fritz. I was wondering if the new r6 system will work along side their extension module, also very old, or will they have to upgrade both?

Thanks,

The 206 is an extension module for 2 lines and 6 extensions, sounds like they have what is called a Baby Partner. The R6 will support the old 206 cards but you will need a new carrier also, I could be wrong but I don't think that old 2 slot will work with the R6.

now that you say that, it makes sense. I appreciate your knowledge, thanks. I'll pass it on.

Hi nforeman,
Telprog is correct, the two slot carrier wil not work with the new ACS processor. You don't want to use a two slot carrier in any case due to heat. Spend the extra for a five slot carrier an install whatever still works in there along with the new processor. I have seen new processors "bake" in less than 1 year in a two slot carrier.
