Backupset not restoring as expected

Hi there,

We are trying to restore a backupset from tape onto a server at our DR site using the following command -

dsmc restore backupset \\.\tape0 {\\servername\s$}\* D:\restore\ -loc=tape

but it is only restoring the root folders (no sub and no files whatsoever, anyone have any ideas why?

Seems like a silly question, but when the backup is created, are the subdirectories being copied as well?

That said, what mechanism are you using to create the backup?

I'm interested as well as how you are doing your backup. I know that my server people back up my server, but in case of a DR, should I be backing up my server differently? I would hate to go to a DR site, and find out that after restoring, nothing works.
