I have a CallPilot 201i rls 2.0 that has recently began to give me trouble. Last week I got the call the the voicemail stopped working, came in to find that the hard drive was overheating even though the room temp. is at 57 degrees (way cool enough). Put a fan on the server overnight, rebooted and it recovered. Went to check the backup to find that the tape drive ate the tape, ordered a new tape, scheduled the backup and get the error "Backup/restore AOS object is unable to start backup. 41809 Tape device is not ready because one backup/resore operation is running now". I also found that the CD ROM which is daisy chained with the tape drive as it should be won't power up (will try a replacement CD ROM)does the CD ROM need to be powered up for CallPilot to recognize the tape drive? Also, when I try to schedule the backup off of the server itself, the tapes window displays "Foreign Tape", help.........

yes both has to be powered up cd drive and tape drive and
make sure the server see the drives by right clicking your
starts button on the server then go to explore then arrow
down until you see the drives.

no problems only solutions
