Ok I will admit that I feel like a complete moron. I use BackupExec all the time and I feel like I know it inside and out. But I'm troubleshooting a tape job problem with one of my clients.
BackupExec 9.x. Just doing Full's on Monday through Friday. I'm not doing any type of tape rotation, just a basic full every day. I am telling the job to overwrite whatever media is in the drive (so if they forget to change tape, at least they still get a backup).. But I am finding that BackupExec is marking the tape as protected from being overwritten and will not backup unless I put a new tape in or if I erase the existing tape first.
Not sure where I am going wrong. I don't recall having this problem anywhere else.
