Were running 9.00 backupexec, all my servers are WIn 2000, Our backups average a thruput rate of 232 MB per min. BUT

My two Exchange servers backup at around 50 mb per min. As such it is takeing upwards to 14 hours each for full backups to run for them.

Ive been told by people Ive met in different classes that this is just the way it is when backing up Exchange servers.

I just cant beleive this. Especialy when I have servers backing up twice as much data in a 4th the time. Does anyone else see this occuring on there networks with Exchange servers? Has anyone found anything to speed the backups up??

Thanks, Dave Jung, Pasco County Government Florida.

The backup on our 17GB Exchange 2000 server takes about an hour for the store.

If you're doing a brick-level backup, then it significantly adds to the time...we stopped brick-level backups a while back because of this.
