You can use Legato's Oracle module, BUT..

The easiest, most cost effective way, is to have your dba write a "hot" backup oracle script (or check htttp:// if you don't have a dba) The script will put the tablespace in backup mode, copy the data to it's destination, then take it out of backup mode.. Once this is completed, you can just push that area to tape.. Also, if you consider this, also keep in mind that the database needs to be running in archivelog mode.
