We have an NT 2000 Server performing login authentication and file sharing. We recently bought a MAC G4 which will be running a proprietary, psuedo-Unix based MRP system.

I've been looking at Retrospect for Workgroups, which I intend to run on the Mac. From reading their on line brochure, it appears it will backup all clients on the Network, as well as the NT Server an, of course, the MRP system to DVD.

Does anyone have experience with this SW ?? Any suggestions, comments ?? Are my observations correct ??

Thx in Advance

Have used Retospect with a G3 backing up a Mac G4 server. Did test it before leaving last company to see if it would backup a NT server and restore to it. No problems.

I found it was better to put a second network card in the NT box just for doing this. The only thing to remember is that the volume is mapped to the machine that is going to do the backup. If you can't fix it in 20 call someone who can.
