My company is using veritas Backup exec 9.0 and recently, this message "A REQUIRED PRIVILEGE IS NOT HELD BY THE CLIENT" have appeared everytime i access the backup jobs created or while I am running the backup wizard.

I have checked the login accounts and nothing is change. And one thing I notice when i tried to create a job, I can't be able to select a file from another directory from another server. The 'Microsoft Windows Network' selection does not appear.

I am not sure if this is got something to do with the error message.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Regards.
Lawrence

The backup exec service user password has changed or rights have changed.

Did you got into network - logon accounts - and retype the password for system logon account or default account.
