Hi @all,

first of all our Environment:
Windows 2000 SP3 Legato Networker 6.2 standalone - Server
Exchange Cluster with two cluster nodes (Compaq Proliant DL580 - G2)and Exchange Module 3.1
The Cluster is attached to a SAN.

I have big problems with single mailbox backup. I heard that legato has problems backing up more then ten mailboxes in one group so i created three groups for mailbox backup. Only the small mailboxes get backed up.

Here is a piece from nsrxchsv.log

Do you have any idea?

Thx in advance.

I had some problems with Exchange Module too, but now it works fine;
- First check the licences: you need a Cluster client licence for each node of the cluster, and a Exchange licence.

- try to change the account of the Networker service running on the Exchange Cluster: you need exchange administrator level;

- check (with nslookup) the network configuration: you need name resolution AND reverse name resolution (ARP AND RARP) for the Networker Server AND the Networker client for the short name AND for the long name...

Good luck

thx but this does not help.
the licenses are okay, because i can run a full online exchange backup.
so it cant be a problem with access rights also. dns is working fine.

One ore two mailboxes are backed up successfully.

Our setup:
2x Dell PowerEdge 2650 (2.4GHz 4Gig Ram) in active-active cluster
win2ksp3
EMC San
Networker v6.2
Exchange module v3.0

we backup over 300 mailboxes at once with no problem.

Make sure the Legato backup service on the mail cluster clients is started with a domain account that has authority in the Active Directory! as Exchange 2k is Active Directory integrated!

On the exchange server, backup the mailbox with

nsrxchsv -vvv...

and capure the output. Then see what additional errors pop up.

Is the mailbox namd really John Doe, or did you edit that name?

thx 4 your answers. It seems to be a problem with the access rights. I get an error message:

OpenMsgStore()= 0x8004011d: The attempt to log on to the Microsoft Exchange Server computer has failed. (Microsoft Exchange Server Information Store).

The Networker Client service runs as local system account. In the remote tab of the group I entered the Domain Admin - Account and also tried the Exchange_Service account.

With this settings I can run a full backup of my exchange server (saveset MSEXCH:)
