Hi All,
The more I think about this question, the more it sounds silly, but I have to ask.

Can you run your backups whilst dbfix is running ?

We have never done any maintenance on our VLDB system, which I shall rectify this weekend, but our dbfix has been running for about 30 hours (3gb db) and we are not taking any backups.

Regards

Jeff

in a word - no.

You can get sample scripts from the ca site to help you with the maint.

i have run these for about 12 months now and have no probs.

there must be a way to do what you want though. our vldb db is about 700mb and it takes roughly 1-2hrs to check everything. a 3gb database!!! You must be backing up a lot of data.

Maybe you can use a remote db (central db). I dunno but you'll struggle with your scenario i think.
