Gone are the days of cfg's in the manager directory. Where are they now? I've searched the SD card too. I have an enterprise customer who has a routine backup requirement.

On the SD they are config.cfg in the primary folder. Manager/preferences determines were you save configs.

Dermis and feline can be divorced by manifold methods.*

Are you sure as mine are in the manager.

But normally I save them on to a portable drive.

Manager/preferences/Security
Save confit file after load and backup files send Andre grey'd out.
Manager/preferences/directories
Working directory is the manager directory by default.

Where can these settings be changed? To me it doesn't seem that there is a way to have an automatic backup of later versions of IPO.

I just did a search on my laptop and a fresh install and there are no cfg's to be found outher then ones I manually saved.

Same here, all my .CFGs and .BAKs are in the Manager folder as per usual :)

They did change the behviour so that Manager keeping copies of the config is off by default (someone probably congratulated themselves in increasing security!) but as far as I'm aware it can be re-enabled but the help does say you need to have logged into the system with full administrator rights.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

Are you guys using 9.1.8? What version of windows are you using?

I'm 9.1.8 on Windows 10 - 2 installs in a row plus my laptop no config or bak's to be had.

If you open embedded file management you can tick off the options for cfg's and bak but it didn't make a difference for me on either laptop or cust supplied desktop.

Brand new install of 9.1 Manager will have "Backup files on Send" UNchecked, and "Enable Application Idle Timer" checked.

You need to connect to a live system to be able to change these settings.

Check Backup Files on Send, UNcheck Enable Application Idle Timer.
Uncheck Secure Communications. Click OK. Reopen Preferences, check Secure Communications, set the level to None, click OK. Reopen Preferences, now UNcheck Secure Communications and click OK. This is the only way to keep Secure Communications set to off and not have to answer the popup when you try to connect.

Oh, and you have to completely EXIT from Manager for these changes to be kept.

Also ensure that you selected Run as Administrator when installing Manager.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

I've found all mine in this location. Let me know if you find them there too...
C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Avaya\IP Office\Manager

Eachof my individual customer's configs are saved to a dropbox folder>phone system customers>Customer name> Avaya>Configs

Then I know where the hell they are.

I hate some forms of propagation.
