Hey guys has anyone done a Backup voicemail server on R8 yet?
I have tried installing with the GA R8 vmpro and the newest R8 vmpro that came out on April 9th and I can't seem to get it to work. I have followed the guide from IPofficehelp.com and have compared to the Avaya documents on the KB but no luck. I can telnet no problem from one server to the next but I do not see any info what so ever in debug. I do see backup voicemail up in the right corner of the backup server, but I never see anything going on in the distributed sevrver section of the primary server. Also I have never seen anything populated under users or groups, modules etc, on the backup server... Any idead. I am using the FQDN for the mail domain and the mail server under smtp setting senders and the FQDN for the mail domain under mail receivers. The only other thing I could add is the primary server is Server 2008R2 and the backup is Server 2003, but they are both the same version of vmpro, currently they are the Q1 release.
Thanks,

Anyone have any ideas at all? Is the backup server option quirky?

Tried it once and it failed and I did not have time since to play with it.

Have this working for a few customers on V6 & V7, but I tried yesterday after upgrading my inhouse kit to V8 and didn't work. Only fiddled with it for 30 minutes before giving up. Will try again when I have time.

One of these days everything will work as it should, and then we'll all be out of a job!

If you follow the guide from ipofficehelp.com you should be good.
I had it running, but then suddenly it stopped. Reason was that the voicemail options in the local systems were changed. All centralized, instead of backup/distributed. The VMPro at the remote sites still showed 'distibuted' but they did not show up in the main site...
