Hello All

not sure if there is anything we can do besides an Avaya ticket but without Avaya contract that is not an option for this customer.

Here the dealings
The backup system works and kicks in when the main server fails and somehow the configuration seems OK but I guess that someone actually installed it manually into the server to make it work.
All voicemail messages get replicated (takes 4-6 min to show up in the backup system) and also taken out when deleted.

Was thinking of deleting the backup call flows and see if that will bring it back but that can only be done during a small window at 7 am and I am not a morning person so maybe someone has a less aggressive way of going ahead.
Next would be of course upgrading to 11.0.4.4 but the TB has no suggestion that this was an error they fixed.

Any suggestion is a good suggestion,

Thanks in advance

OK I found the reason for this and damn is that stupid
forgot to mention this is complete IP500V2 setup with Windows servers as Vm

Here is goes
If you have the VmPro client open on the backup server or open it before the call flows have synchronized then the VMDATA.mdb file gets the timestamp of the moment when you close the VmPro client and it will reject the synch because the receiving file is newer than the sending file.

IF you have VmPro client open on the backup it will not overwrite the file because it is in use already.

So the moral of the story, if your messages synchronize then the call flows are also doing it and you don't have to constantly check by opening the VmPro client on the backup or you will prevent it from actually synchronizing

In addition to this :)
if you make changes to the main voicemail and you close it and then open the backup and then close it the backup server will send its file to the main server to synch because it is newer and wipe out your programming.

I hope that server edition works better than that but nobody ever connects to the backup server so I guess it works the same way

Honestly I vaguely remember someone posting on another thread to this or a similar issue but I doubt I could ever find it. Pink for fully explaining it so hopefully it saves someone else the time and pain.

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.
