Hi, I have a few questions that I hope to get answer to here.

I have 1 server SBS 2003 and I'm thinking of replacing our old tape HP DAT40.

So my question is: can I use NT Backup to backup our server and send the backup .bkf-file to another computer on the LAN. And if the SBS server crashes, restore the bkf-file to the SBS server?

I have an old version of Backup Exec 9. Can I use this to send backups to a server on the LAN instead of using tape-drives?

I don't want to use tapes. I rather copy all information to another computer and burn DVD's instead.

sincerely

Ben

BackupExec may have a more robust restore ability. The built-in backup tool, NTBACKUP, would require you to backup the system state and then in the event of a system failure, reinstall the system from scratch, then restore the System State and other backups after.

Ok. Thanks for your post.
