I trying to get the FTP Backup to work. I have FTPGuild on my laptop so I am trying it there first. I can open a FTP connection via DOS with (FTP user and @ Password)...so that works fine. However I am getting an error of Broken Pipe:Socket write error. Googled it and I keep seeing JAVA. So I updated my java and still no luck. Any help would be greatly appreicated. 3300 4.0 UR2

Did you test Read / Write via FTP?

Is windows Firewall On?

Is Virus Checker On?

I forgot to to tell I can watch it test login...then it backs up 3300 then I can watch it attempt to send to the Guild FTP....Works fine on 200ICP's because that is the only way to do a backup if connected via IP.

Not sure if I am sure of what you are saying. You open a Guild FTP session to the 3300 and get your error? I have FTP working to a Filezilla FTP server. I programmed up the FTP backup on each of the three 3300's in my cluster ( via SDS share ) and all can store their backups fine. After some initial problems with the account I created ( on the FTP server ) I can watch the Filezilla server and see each 3300 login and start/finish the backup session fine.

As kwbMitel states make sure firewall is off and shut off anti virus.

What I was saying was I logged onto my FTP server via DOS with the FTP command....user name of FTP and password of @...that way I know the user name and password is valid...otherwise someone would have said....bad username and password

The system needs to do a lot more than log in.

This is why I asked you to test read/write access, make sure the windows firewall is off and possibly turn off your virus checker.

Not to pick nits but, have you done any of these things?

If not, why ask for help in the first place?

I was able to fix it. I spent an hour on the phone with Mitel and still couldn't get it to work.....so they said to reboot 3300 as a last option. That seemed to fix it...at least for now. I have sent Mitel the Logs and I am suppose to check back on the service desk tomorrow. There may be some kind of other issue. Thanks

FYI, The next step after confirming all the FTP issues were resolved would be to check to see if any of your voicemail ports are in a constant offhook state.

Voicemail ports being locked up can cause your issues.

Rebooting the system, without a backup, is rather extreme in my book.

Glad it all worked out for you.

I backed it up prior to rebooting. I could backup to the PC hard drive fine.
