I am hoping that someone will be able to help me here. I have six backup jobs that perform incremental backups each weekday, and then full backups on Sundays. They backup everything to two Buffalo NAS units. What I would like to do is to once a week copy these backups to a removable hard drive (say each Sunday after the full backup completes) so we can then remove the hard drive and put it in our safe deposit box.

I can't seem to find a way to do this. Should I be looking for someone to come onsite to help me get this done?

two ways, 1 just copy it over 2 tapecopy.

backup to a volume is a backup to a FSD and a File System Device is just a directory turned into a virtual tape.

setup a FSD on your removable drive and then use the tapecopy utility (see help files) to copy the data over.

Or just setup a copy job to copy the complete directory comprising the FSD over to the removable drive. As long as the complete directory is copied over it can always be setup as a FSD in ARCserve and data restored from it.

but of course either way a test restore should be done.

I added a Pre/Post command to execute a batch file that does a xcopy.

XCOPY /C /D /Y H:\*.CTF I:\*.CTF

Good Luck
