backup to Disk

Running Veritas 8.5 for windows server.
Windows NT4 server (SP6a)

I want to backup to a HD in another server.
According to the veritas knowledge base on Veritas's website I need to go to device right click on the backup[ to disk folders on the devices tab in backup exec and add the drive.

There is no backup to Disk folders listed in my devices tab under the server.

Why is this ?

I believe the backup to disk is in the Veritas v9.0 version.

You need to create a directory on the hard drive you wish to back up to. Then go to Backup To Disk Folders under the DEVICES tab and right click it. Select New Backup Folder and point it to the directory you just created. Then send the back up jobs to that media folder.

I do see the backup to disk folder in my veritas 8.6 version. so it IS in the 8.6 version of Veritas. I have never used this option. We have this on 2 different worksites, and version 9.0 on some work sites.

backup To Disk was first introduced in Version 8.6 of Backup Exec.

backup exec 9.0 expanded on this and now you are able to backup to removable media - ie. CD-RW, ZIP, JAZZ, DVD-RW.
