Hello,

I dont know if it is not a stupid question, but I cant find it anywhere - can I backup up to disk in ARCserve 11.5 without disk staging option? Is it basic feature in Arcserve?

THanks for answer...

John

Yes you can... setup a file system device (FSD) and do not configure it for staging in the Device Group Configuration (for FSD's dark blue groups are for disk staging, light blue coloured groups are for backup to disk only). This way you can use the 'normal' retention rules for retaining data on disk media.
You can also setup an FSD for staging and choose NOT to copy data to tape media in the job setup. This way you can use the disk staging policy retention rules for retaining data on disk media.

regards
