Hi
In previuos releases, I could make an archive database to the pcmcia card very easy. I also used it when I was programming a new switch with my standard data base"install archived database".
Now in release 5, I'm not able to do this any more! Is there another way, other than use XBK-XRT?. It is a slow way, compared to the archived database

On the CS1000E 5.0 at my office, a LD 43 EDD automatically backs up to the PCMCIA card. If you remove the CF card from the PCMCIA slot it generates an error message during the EDD to gives an error code that indicates that there was no removable media available to use for external backup.

Here is a screen scrape from my EDD. (If you have something different, please post your LD 22 ISS & EDD captures.)

You have a problem if you have 2 processors. CPU 0 and CPU 1. On your screen shot CIOD157 INFO: FMD 0 is ACTIVE, RDUN is DISABLED it is stating that core one is not in sync with core 0.

I believe the question was relating to an Option 11 SSC card. I will research this later getting late and in the middle of an upgrade.

You get the RDUN is DISABLED on the CS1000E with 1 processor. When you change to the MGC card and the CPPM call processors, it thinks that it is a large system whether or not you have 2 processors, so that is normal.

Hi all
My edd is exactly as above. The question is -. How do I use the files that currently are on the cf2?

His question is, how does he use the archived database from one machine to install it on a new machine to save programming the same thing over and over when all his machines will be the same.

This is a Signature and not part of the answer, it appears on every reply.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

You should be able to use it, and just choose install customer database. I am thinking you might have problems because of the keycode files stored in the EDD file.

Best choice is to copy the config.rec and database.rec files, to your pc. Bring up the new system in default database and then copy over the database.rec/config.rec files you have on the PBX with the ones from your PC. I have done this with no problems.

My system is a CS1000E, single CPPM Call Server. RDUN is Disabled in my hardware configuration. The display appears because the software used for the single-CS configuration is the same software used for the Geographically Redundant or High Availability CS configurations.

janaya, thanks for the info. I'd always thought that would work but had never actually tried it myself.

Hi Janaya
Normally on large systems, I also used these 2 files database.rec and config.rec.
Now i'm just afraid that I might loose some configuration, though there are both node-mgc files etc. Have you actually tried it in rel 5.
We were also able to use the ABKO-ARES, and these commands included it all.

But of course I'm able to choose the customer database from the RMD in the Install tool, this must be the way to do it.

using the archived DB from one switch can be used on a different CS as long as the DB being loaded doesn't exceed the licensed num of SLT's & you have the correct feature set to support all the functionality in the DB

Remember if it doesn't work hit it harder
