backup taking ages

I have install backup exec & sql agent. when i try to take backup of sql 7 database on remote server, where i have installed sql agent, it take 5 hours to show databse when i click on sql agent.

both server r next to each other & through network neighbourhood it is accessing normaly.

Am i missing something.
