I just started working for a small company about 1 week ago and I have noticed that they do not have a backup storage device on their server. They are currently running Windows 2000 server and they have about 10 or 12 clients on the network. I don't want to suggest that they pay for a huge storage device for such a small network. I thought about just simply using Compact Disc to backup the server. Normally, I would suggest a Veritas solution. Does anyone have any ideas for a backup solution for a small network running on Windows 2000 Server?

Thanks in advance for your responses.

For an easy and cheap solution, I would not backup to disk. There are many points of failure and the backups are not protected. I am not sure what your company policy is with offsite storage or not, but for a cheap and very good solution I would suggest using BakBone NetVault. You can find them here -->

Thanks for the advice and information comtec17. Backbone really looks like a good affordable product. The companies current policy is offsite storage. They want to backup to a tape or disc, so that they can physically store it somewhere offsite.
