Hi All,
I wonder if anyone can help.
Im looking for a backup solution for my servers.
6 Servers - Windows 2000 + IIS + Cold Fusion Server
3 Servers - Windows 2000 + SQL Server 2000
2 Servers - RH Linux 7.3 + Qmail

They all have their own RAID array, no network attached storage. And their all located at our remote un-manned data center.

I need a backup solution that can be administered remotely via web or Terminal Services.

Also what backup medium would you recommend Automated tape library or backup onto hard disk?
Im also intrested in the disaster recovery option that allows a server to be brought back up from OS+Apps+Data.

Look forward to any replies, Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Vinay

I can't answer for everything you are trying to do...however concerning SQL Server I can give you an answer.

The BEST way to backup SQL Server is to do a native (SQL BACKUP DATABASE commands) backup to hard drive and then copy those files to tape. I don't use any third-party SQL agent/option as they don't always work.
