I have a small PtoP network with Win2000Pro/dualboot Win2000Pro Win98se/Win98 PCs, and require to do a network backup of certain files from all PCs.

I have looked at both the NTbackup utility & Iomega
"Works" (as included with my Zip drives), but neither seem to suit.

NTbackup doesn't offer any filtering options to exclude files(which I would like), and Iomega "Works", which does offer filtering options, doesn't look as if it will backup over the network?

Am I missing something with these backup utilities, or do I require something "more advanced"?

I dont require any sort of scheduling or fancy stuff, just something which will allow me to carry out a small & simple backup over the network, with the ability to exclude files from selected folders.

Much appreciated.

Try using Relative Rev Backup. It will both enable you to backup to a local area network attached computer, and to filter files/folders in many ways. Additionally, it will manage your backup seamlessly in an incremental fashion, which will save you lots of space.

Download it from
