Backup Service account vs. Local System

Guys,
What are the pros and cons of using a dedicated Windows backup account (in the Domain or Directory) for the agents, vs. using the Local System account?

The local system account has all rights necessary to backup every file on the system, and, to back up the SYSTEM STATE.

A dedicated backup account can back up shares, but requires a bit more administrative work on installation.

What do most people do? What do Veritas and Microsoft recommend?

We use a dedicated account that is a domain admin account. Reason - When we do our backups, a lot of clients go to different media servers and data etc is backed up from different location so the specific account simplifies it for access purposes.
