Looking for an effective and easy way for the client to backup FE & BE files to CD/RW drive. I guess what I am trying to achieve is to backup the FE/MDE and the BE/MDB to the CD/RW drive in one shot and a way of archiving a few distinct backups in case the most recent backups contains a boo boo. I also thought of a possiblity of the MS backup utiltity being auto invoked when starting up the DB.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated,

Karl

Sorry for the confusion,

Back to decaf I guess

I ended up writing a batch file using "ntbackup" (XP Pro sp2) which backs up the Access db to a appended file on a CD/RW.
It is a shortcut that can be run from the desktop by the user without prompts. I can also select a specific date of the backup for a restore. The appended file catalog gives this control.
