hi,
i've a backups using RMAN. The sintxis is as:
...
backup ( database force include current controlfile );
...

i want to know, what do backup previous and especially the option force.

Too, is need have database in arhivelog mode?

thanks.

Yarka,

RMAN may be configured to back up only those tablespaces which have changed since the last backup. This means that read-only datafiles will not be backed up, as they will not change, which is good, as it saves time and storage.

If you use the force option, you tell RMAN to back up all tablespaces, whether or not they have changed.

The include current control file option does just what it says, it includes the current control file in the backup set.
