I have some files that were backed up in 1993, using Windows 3.1, and they now need to be restored. I presently use Windows 98 2nd Edition. I have tried using "restore..." from a DOS prompt. I have also tried to use the Restore Wizard. These are irreplaceable files that need to be restored. Can anyone help me find out how to go about restoring them?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Hmmm, the only suggestion I can make is to take out your existing hard disk, pop in another, and make a Winv3.1 installation. Restore the files onto that hard disk, then reconfigure the disk as a slave, put back your Win 98 drive and read off the slave.

Rather a long winded way of doing it, but if the info is that critical...
