"Conditions
You must program the leading digits of the hunt group pilot number to be greater than its RAD group numbers. When the system backs up or restores Hunt Groups, it does so in the order of the leading digits of the hunt group pilot number."

What do thy mean by RAD group number?

Thanks

A RAD is a "Recorded Announcement Device" typically used with call centers and hunt groups where the caller periodically hears a recorded announcement while waiting for their call to be answered, ie, "please hold, someone will be with your shortly". You can group multiple RADs together into a RAD hunt group for applications where you may have a high number of calls and then tag that RAD group to the hunt group or ACD Path.

RAD's are Recorded Announcement Device's (RAD). Sometimes a hunt group will have a RAD to provide a message that all members are busy.

RAD Groups (Multiple ports to provide same message) would also be programmed in the hunt group form.

The warning is telling you to make sure the RAD group (if they exist) must have a Lower numerical number (so that they are created first )or the restore of the hunt group will fail due to the RAD group not existing yet.

This is due to the restore sequence. It will apply different segments of config in particular order. For example it will program extensions first in one segment and then will apply buttons in another. RAD and hunt groups are being restored in the same segment, so when the database engine is opening the source file it will retrieve records in numerical sequence and try to feed them into configuration system. So if there is no RAD group programmed yet, the configuration system will reject this record. I don't know why Mitel didn't fix this, so we just have to follow this rule.

Lexicographical numbering. Part & parcel of the Mitel 2K code base since the days of Mike & Terry's Lawnmower shop.

Still, I agree with Slapin. This would be easy to fix by restoring Huntgroups by order of type, not just number. This way, recording groups would be restored prior to Ring groups, Voice Groups etc. Seems too easy in fact.
