backup/restore quorum on cluster

hi. have a question regarding backing up a quorum on a cluster.

i was reading the disaster recovery guide on restoring a failed quorum disk, and it said that the quorum should reside on an array that is not a RAID. anyone know why? is anyone out there backing up a cluster, and if so, what your setup is.
