Dear all
As to what i understand is that Windows 2k had a built in backup program that will able to backup the "system state".
So when the server had crash / down,we need to restore the "system state".
What exactly did "system state" cover? cause we want to compare the backup program built in with win2k and the Disaster Recovery Option of Acrserve.
As the server had crashed, which backup program can restore the whole system within the most less time and less operation?

Thx alot

Jack

Hi
System cover many things it depend on your configuration some of the info
Registry
COM+ Class Registration database
Boot files, including the system files
Certificate Services database
Active Directory directory service
SYSVOL directory
Cluster service information
If you have DNS server also it going to be included

MS backup doesn't support to backup a remote system state only local wherase Arcserve does.

regards,
mohamdr
